We are facing one of the most urgent political moments in our lifetime. Attacks on democracy, civil rights, public education, and basic decency are accelerating. This is not about one campaign or issue — it’s about stopping unconstitutional, illegal, and harmful actions by a government growing more hostile to its own people.
I'm proposing a bold, community-powered model: Hire me directly with $50-$500 monthly support as your local organizing and campaign director. I’ll serve Tallahassee and Leon County full-time — not for a party, PAC, or nonprofit, but for you.
After 20+ years working across the country on everything from presidential campaigns to nonprofit tech strategy, I want to offer something different:
👉 A full-time, professional political strategist and organizer working only for this community.
👉 Someone to coordinate rallies, protests, media strategies, fundraising, and more — without waiting for permission.
👉 An organizer with national reach and local roots, helping us build campaigns, pressure elected officials, and fight back effectively.
This is not a contract gig or staff role. It’s an open commitment to help however I can — where I’m invited, where I’m needed, and where we can make the biggest impact.
I’ve already begun. Now I need your help to keep going.
I'm Nic Zateslo — a Tallahassee native, a father of two young kids, and someone who has dedicated over two decades to organizing, campaigning, and building the political tech infrastructure that movements depend on. I’ve knocked on doors in Florida heat, built and scaled national organizing tools, led diverse teams, and helped nonprofits raise millions to fight for justice, equity, and real progress. But after 20 years away, I moved my family back here — to raise my kids where I grew up, and to reinvest in the community I care most about.
Over my career, I’ve worked everywhere from local ballot initiatives to presidential campaigns. Most recently, I was Chief Operating Officer at a national voter tech startup — Votivate — building a next-generation alternative to VAN. We were ready to launch nationally in 2026. Then, like too many efforts, we watched our funding dry up the moment national donors turned off the faucet after 2024. I was laid off the day after Christmas.
That moment was painful — but clarifying. I realized the work I wanted to do, the work that matters most right now, is here. Not in a DC office. Not chasing donor whims. Not waiting to be told what’s strategic.
I don’t want to chase funding from people disconnected from our lived experience. I want to show up for Tallahassee.
Since returning, I’ve served as a volunteer Campaign Chair for the Leon County Democratic Party, helping lead events and raise over $45,000. I helped coordinate the Neal Dunn Town Hall — where over 450 people gathered in one room to demand accountability, share frustration, and spark action. That event got national attention, including a segment on The Rachel Maddow Show — not by accident, but because I helped make sure our local story broke through.
That night changed everything for me. I saw what this community is capable of when we come together. I saw the energy. I felt the urgency. I heard the call — not just to act, but to step up full-time.
So that’s what I’m doing. I’ve already begun — I just need your help to keep going. This is not a pitch for a new nonprofit or campaign. It’s a proposal for something more immediate, more direct, and more accountable: one person, fully dedicated to Tallahassee, working for you.
If this community funds this work, here’s what I will do, starting now:
📰 Free Weekly Newsletter — No gatekeeping. Local news, organizing updates, action alerts.
🛠️ Direct Organizing Help — Support for events, protests, campaigns, and advocacy.
🧭 Strategic Advice + Political Education — Working alongside leaders to build power and plan action.
🗣️ Monthly Community Salons — In-person spaces to talk, dream, connect, and plan together.
🌐 Bridge to National Resources — Bring in speakers, tools, and support Tallahassee too often misses.
I’ll be wherever I’m most useful — not behind a desk, but in the field with you.
If you contribute monthly, you’re not just funding the work — you become part of it.
✅ Behind-the-scenes updates on projects, meetings, and decisions
✅ Open feedback loops — share your ideas and shape the strategy
✅ Book one-on-one time to meet or talk with me directly
✅ Confidence someone is doing this work full-time for your community
This is a shared project. You’ll know what’s happening and why — and you can opt out any time.
To make this sustainable through 2026, I need ~150 monthly supporters giving between $50 and $500. That’s it.
No mega-donors. No PACs. Just us.
I have already confirmed enough initial supporters to get started, but I must secure as much local support as possible in the next few weeks to continue.
Is this a nonprofit or campaign?
No. This is a direct community-powered role. I’m not seeking office. I’m doing the work.
What if I want to stop giving?
You can cancel anytime, instantly.
How much should I give?
Whatever feels right. $50–$500 monthly is the goal, but any amount helps.
How do I know what you’re doing?
You’ll get regular updates, and I’ll share the decisions, actions, and outcomes transparently.
This is new — but we can make it work. Let’s build a model based on trust, results, and urgency.
No one else is coming to save us. But together, we can rise to meet this moment.
